Commissions
RaceDay Engine may receive affiliate commissions when you click a merchant link on this site and then buy something from that merchant. Not every merchant link necessarily generates a commission — for example, links to a brand’s own website where we have not been approved to an affiliate program do not.
What commission never affects
RaceDay Engine has a permanent editorial rule:
Commission ≠ Product Score Commission ≠ Product Ranking
A merchant that pays a higher commission will never appear higher in a recommendation, score better on a Fit Score, or be labeled a “best” or “top pick” because of that commission. Recommendations are computed from a frozen, versioned algorithm and the published evidence.
How merchant relationships can change
Merchants and their affiliate programs can be added, paused, or removed at any time. The product set itself is not driven by merchant availability — a shoe we recommend does not stop being recommended because we lose an affiliate relationship with its seller.
Sponsored relationships
RaceDay Engine does not currently run sponsored content or sponsored placements. If that ever changes, sponsored content will be clearly labeled and kept separate from algorithmic recommendations. The permanent rule above (commission is not a quality input) is unchanged.
Why a disclosure is on every page with merchant links
Per FTC Endorsement Guides and our compliance policy, the disclosure lives in close proximity to the merchant links — not behind a tooltip, not in the footer only, not in this page alone. That’s why pages like /hyrox/shoes and /shoe-finder carry the proximity notice above the merchant section.
